The instrument is disassembled and body and bore oiled to keep the instrument healthy. Tone holes are levelled where necessary and pad seating is checked, any damaged pads being replaced. The mechanism is cleaned and oiled to fight grime build-up. Keys are adjusted where necessary, and the regulation is checked and adjusted. It’s recommended that your instrument be serviced at least once a year, to avoid many of the issues that can arise from continued use.

Overhaul
The instrument is disassembled and cleaned, pillars and keys polished. Tone holes are levelled where necessary and all pads and corks are replaced. The mechanism is disassembled and cleaned, and the body and bore oiled to keep the instrument healthy. Any inserts are checked and sealed where necessary, loose tenon corks are replaced.

Playing Order
Will get an instrument in playing condition as efficiently as possible. Depending on the state of the instrument it may require a service or even an overhaul, however if the damage is localised, for example a bent key, it may be a simpler fix. Inspection of the instrument is essential to any pricing.
